43 GHz Calibrators

One part of BAaDE includes performing astrometric observations of the SiO masers at 43 GHz. The biggest challenge here is to find a sufficiently close calibrator (within a degree or two) that is detectable at baselines of 1000s of km at 43 GHz. The VLBA calibrator catalogs contains few calibrators that have been observed at 22 GHz, however, most of the sky is empty in terms of high frequency VLBI calibrators. We are therefore performing a calibrator search, using the VLA/VLBA/EVN to observe candidate calibrators at 43 GHz. The current standing of our candidate calibrator lists are as follows.
