Altitudinal dependence of meteor radio afterglows as measured by optical counterparts
Obenberger et al. in Geophysical Research letters Volume 43, Issue 17, 16 September 2016, Pages 8885-8892 See article.
Editors' Highlights: This paper reports the long-sought radio frequency emission from bolides, which are large meteors that explode in the atmospherer. This was done using the prototype radio astronomy imaging Long wavelength Array in the HF/VHF frequency rangeplus the very necessary array of all-sky optical imagers designed to study bolides. This opens a new chapter on meteriod and associated plasma physics.
